Judy Bynum George

From her earliest painting days as a student in Houston, Judy took to the outdoors.  With an oversized canvas strapped to the top of her red Volkswagen, she found subjects in open fields, on the golf course, or along country roads—any place that caught her eye.

During the 1970’s, Judy worked for Ron Hall, owner of Hall Galleries in Ft. Worth, TX. It was during this time she had the opportunity to observe first hand the paintings of the American Impressionists, and study their use of color and technique. These proved to be important years in the development of her own style, and ignited a passion for painting that would last a lifetime.

George’s texture-filled paintings have become recognizable for their identifiable bold brushstrokes, rich color, and inspirational and playful titles.

“Everywhere I look, I am overwhelmed with the beauty of nature, and also the many colorful people who grace my life. I use the forms of nature as symbols for expression: pathways, clouds, mountains, sunlight and shadows, trees and flowing streams.

I love to record titles from rock music to hymns, books, movies, and TV, and then paint inspired by both the words and the music.”

“We were always going to find our way back.
That was the problem.”

Thessaly Kappas has always been driven by one thing: her future. She’s spent years pushing herself—earning scholarships, chasing opportunities, and doing everything she can to ease the burden on her hard-working immigrant parents. It’s taken sacrifice, including leaving home and everything familiar behind.
Now, with a hard-earned career opportunity waiting for her in Paris, she’s finally within reach of the life she’s spent years building. But returning home for her best friend’s wedding forces her to confront something she thought she left behind—Matthew Kim.
Matthew Kim has spent years rebuilding himself after being abandoned by the people who were supposed to love him most. His sister disappeared. His mother left. And Thessaly—the girl who once made him feel whole—chose her dreams over him. Now sober, successful, and trying to build a life that feels stable, Matt has learned one thing the hard way: never wait for someone to choose you.
But when Thessaly re-enters his life, nothing is as simple as he wants it to be. Their chemistry is immediate. Familiar. Dangerous.
What starts as proximity—shared spaces, lingering glances, and unresolved tension—quickly turns into something deeper. Through quiet moments of care, late-night conversations, and the undeniable pull between them, old feelings resurface stronger than ever. But so do old wounds.
Is love enough when timing has always been against you?
In a story about second chances, self-worth, and choosing between love and ambition, Thessaly and Matt must decide whether holding on is worth the risk—or if letting go is the only way to finally move forward.
